IDENTIFY THEFT INVESTIGATION – OSMIN TERUEL RODRIGUEZ
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Osmin Teruel Rodriguez, 41, of 223 Highway 1005, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges originating as an identity theft case.
On October 25, 2024, the Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint from a local business in reference to an employee who committed identity theft.
Detectives initiated an investigation and determined that an individual now identified as Osmin Teruel Rodriguez who was now working for that business used another individual’s identity to obtain fraudulent identification in order to gain employment with the local business.
As a result of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants for Osmin Teruel Rodriguez.
Detectives arrested Rodriguez on Monday and booked him into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Forgery
*Felony Identity Theft
*Unlawful Production, Manufacturing, Distribution, or Possession of Fraudulent
Documents for Identification Purposes
Rodriguez remains incarcerated in the Assumption Parish Detention Center pending a bond hearing. A detainer has been placed on Rodriguez by I.C.E. (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement)
