NAPOLEONVILLE – Earlier today, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that the small aluminum boat pictured was floating in Bayou Lafourche in the area of 6576 Highway 1 in Klotzville, south of Belle Rose.

The Sheriff’s Office Water Patrol located the boat and have secured it at that location.

It is a small aluminum bateau without a motor. It was half full of water and the bow rope was broken.

Based upon the condition, deputies believe the boat may have broken loose from it’s mooring. There is no indication that the boat was occupied or was part of any boating incident.

There are no registration numbers on the boat.
