NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION – SEARCH WARRANT – DRUG/GUN LAW VIOLATIONS –
JAMES HENRY COX, JR.
BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of James Henry Cox, Jr., 40, of 110 Jamie Court, Bayou L’Ourse, LA, on felony charges arising from an ongoing narcotics investigation. As a result of that investigation, narcotics agents developed information indicating that James Henry Cox, Jr. was trafficking in illegal narcotics.
As the investigation progressed, agents developed probable cause sufficient to obtain a search warrant for a residence located at 110 Jamie Court. On Tuesday morning, deputies and agents converged on the residence for the purpose of executing the search warrant. As a result of that search, a significant quantity of illegal controlled dangerous substances, assorted paraphernalia and firearms were seized.
James Henry Cox, Jr., was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on Tuesday afternoon on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax (Alprazolam)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Resisting an Officer
James Henry Cox, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
