NARCOTICS INVESTIGATION – OSCAR JOSEPH DAVIS
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Oscar Joseph Davis, 48, of 109 Pugh Street, Paincourtville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from an ongoing parish wide narcotics investigation.
On Wednesday afternoon, an I.C.E. assigned deputy attempted a stop of a vehicle near Paincourtville for a licensing violation. As the deputy exited his vehicle, the driver, now identified as Oscar Joseph Davis fled on foot with the deputy in pursuit. After a struggle, Oscar Joseph Davis was taken into custody. The deputy recovered a bag of suspected marijuana from the underneath of a home.
As a part of this investigation, deputies applied for and were granted search warrants for two residential properties. Deputies did execute those search warrants and seized an assortment of controlled dangerous substances.
Oscar Joseph Davis was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Heroin with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of MDMA with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Resisting an Officer
*Probation / Parole Violator
Oscar Joseph Davis remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing. Davis was ordered held without bond on the probation detainer.
