OFF ROAD VEHICLE COMPLAINT, GUN / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
JAMAL LEE STARKS
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jamal Lee Starks, 24, of 117 Violet Street, Labadieville, LA, on felony drug and gun violations arising out of an off-road vehicle complaint on Violet Street.
Responding deputies observed a dirt bike riding on a public roadway and initiated a violator stop. At that time, deputies proceeded to interview the dirt bike operator, now identified as Jamal Lee Starks. While interviewing Starks, deputies noted a black bag as well as a strong odor of suspected marijuana. At some point, the bag was inspected and found to contain suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia, a firearm and a significant amount of U.S. currency.
Jamal Lee Starks is a prior convicted felon.
Jamal Lee Starks was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Transactions Involving Proceeds from Controlled Dangerous Substance Activity
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Off Road Vehicle on Roadway
Jamal Starks was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
At the time of this arrest Jamal Lee Starks was out on two separate bonds, one for drug offenses an another for 3rd degree rape.
