OFF-ROAD VEHICLE ON ROADWAY, PURSUIT – I.C.E. ARREST

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Tyrik Fabian Jones, 27, of 172 Peterville Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on felony charges following a traffic incident involving an offroad vehicle and subsequent pursuit south of Belle Rose on Thursday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed multiple dirt bikes traveling on LA 308 near Paincourtville and attempted an investigative stop of those vehicles.
The two operators engaged the deputy in a pursuit and crossed the LA 70 Bridge turning north of LA 1. One of the violators made it into a cane field while the other continued north. The deputy continued pursuit of one of the bikes.
The operator of the bike eventually crashed, fled on foot and was then arrested. The suspect now identified as Tyrik Fabian Jones was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Flight from an Officer
*Off-Road Vehicle on Roadway
*Possession of Marijuana
Tyrik Fabian Jones remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
