OFFROAD VEHICLES ON ROADWAY, THIRD OFFENSE D.W.I. – CODY JOSEPH LEONARD
BAYOU CORNE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cody Joseph Leonard, 48, of 153 Sportsman Dr., Belle Rose, LA, on felony driving while intoxicated charges after he was stopped for driving an offroad vehicle on LA. 70 near Bayou Corne on Thursday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed the offroad vehicle westbound on LA. 70 and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Cody Joseph Leonard. The deputy noted an odor of alcohol emitting from the person of Cody Joseph Leonard.
The deputy conducted field sobriety testing of Leonard, of which he performed poorly.
Cody Joseph Leonard was arrested and transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center where he was administered Intoxilyzer testing. Leonard recorded a 0.200g% breath alcohol result.
Cody Joseph Leonard was booked on charges of:
- Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense – Felony
- Driving an Offroad Vehicle Upon a Public Roadway
- No Safety Helmet
Cody Joseph Leonard remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
