POSSESSION OF FIREARM–CONVICTED FELON–SHOOTING INCIDENT
TRAYON I. BOATNER
PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Trayon I. Boatner, 26, of 3021 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA, on felony charges stemming from a June 25, 2020 incident near Plattenville, LA.
On the aforementioned date, deputies were dispatched to a local business in connection with a shooting incident.
During the investigative process, detectives recovered surveillance footage which depicted Trayon I. Boatner with a firearm in his possession and further revealed Boatner discharging the firearm.
Detectives determined that Trayon I. Boatner was convicted of two prior felonies including attempted 2nd Degree Murder on December 14, 2016 and Possession of Hydrocodone on October 25, 2016.
As a result of their investigation, on July 2, 2020, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Boatner with possessing a firearm as a felon and entered the warrant in the national database.
On July 8, 2020, New Orleans Police Department Officers arrested Boatner in the 500 Block of Canal Street in New Orleans.
Trayon I. Boatner was transported to Assumption Parish on July 10, 2020 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Fugitive Warrant – City of Thibodaux
Trayon I. Boatner remains incarcerated in lieu of $5,000 bond.
