PROTECTIVE ORDER VIOLATION – FELONY – DESHOWN BURDIS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Deshown Burdis, 37, of 166 A Violet St., Labadieville, La., on felony charges originating with protective order violations on August 8, 2026.
On the aforementioned date, deputies responded to a complaint on Violet Street and made contact with the complainant who advised that she had a protective order in effect against Deshown Burdis. The complainant provided deputies several instances in which Deshown Burdis had violated the protective order. As a result of those violations, deputies secured arrest warrants for Burdis.
On Wednesday morning deputies located Deshown Burdis and attempted to arrest her. Burdis violently resisted those efforts and in the process committed a battery upon a deputy.
Deshown Burdis was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Violation of a Protective Order
*Resisting Arrest by Force or Violence
*Battery of a Police Officer
Deshown Burdis remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
