PURSUIT – OBSTRUCTION – DRUG LAW VIOLATION

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sterling Joseph Robinson, 36, of 132 Belle Point Lane, Napoleonville, La., on charges related to a vehicle pursuit on Thursday afternoon.
An I.C.E. assigned deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation in the area of LA 401 and Marshall Lane and attempted to conduct an investigative stop, but the suspect vehicle fled into the village of Napoleonville with the violator tossing suspected narcotics out of the vehicle.
The vehicle was eventually stopped near St. Mary Street and the suspect, now identified as Sterling Joseph Robinson was arrested.
A search of the suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected marijuana. During the arrest process, Robinson acknowledged throwing illegal substances during the chase.
Sterling Joseph Robinson was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Facility on charges of:
*Obstruction of Justice
*Resisting an Officer
*Flight from an Officer
*Possession of Marijuana
*Failure to Drive on Right Side of Highway
Sterling Joseph Robinson was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
