RECKLESS DRIVER COMPLAINT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – CONSTANCE N. BERTRAND

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Constance N. Bertrand, 35, of 1728 River Road, Berwick, LA, on felony charges arising from a reckless driver complaint on LA 1 in Labadieville.

Deputies were dispatched to the area of LA 1 and LA 398 on Monday afternoon in reference to a reckless driver complaint. Deputies responded and were able to locate the vehicle in the area.

Deputies made contact with the driver, now identified as Constance N. Bertrand. Deputies engaged the driver into an officer / violator interview. At the conclusion of that interview, deputies believed that additional investigation was warranted.

Deputies requested and were granted consent to search the vehicle. During the search process, deputies seized multiple doses of Klonopin (Clonazepam).

Additionally, deputies were notified that Constance N. Bertrand was wanted on multiple warrants from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Constance N. Bertrand was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on charges of:

*Possession of Klonopin (Clonazepam)
*Possession of Marijuana
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Fugitive Warrants – St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office Relative to Drug Court Violations

Constance N. Bertrand remains incarcerated with bond set at $15,000.
