NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is advising residents of a relatively new scam which is developing in the parish.

Recently, residents have received calls from an individual representing themselves as calling on behalf of Amazon to inquire if the resident had recently successfully received ordered goods.

The caller then requested charge card information in order to verify the status of the order.

If you receive such a call, we urge residents to check your order status from the source and check your account to see if you have been charged.

You should not under any circumstance provide your credit or debit card account information to anyone making such inquiry.

Again, if you have any issue with an order, go to the source of the order and check your account.
