NAPOLEONVILLE –Sheriff Leland Falcon is advising all residents to be aware of an ongoing scam.

The Sheriff’s Office has received reports of individuals representing themselves as Ascension Parish Deputies and calling residents telling them that they have missed jury duty and now have a warrant for their arrest.

The caller goes on to state that the resident can pay money by depositing cash into a kiosk to avoid arrest.

This is a SCAM!

Local and federal courts do not operate in this manner.

If you receive such a call, do not respond by providing money as directed by the caller.

Anyone receiving any calls of a similar nature is urged to contact the Sheriff’s Office at 985-369-2912.

Again, do not provide any monies to these callers.
