SHERIFF LELAND FALCON SUPPORTS MILLAGE RENEWAL PARISH WIDE FOR LOCAL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS
NAPOLEONVILLE – On June 27, 2026, there is a very important initiative on election ballots parish wide which is a 5 mill tax renewal which helps to fund our volunteer fire departments parish wide.
Sheriff Leland Falcon issues the following statement pledging his total support for our fire departments:
“As Sheriff, and a proud resident of Assumption Parish, I am strongly in support of the millage tax renewal which will appear on the June 27, 2026 ballot throughout Assumption Parish.
This measure is not a new tax but is a 5 mill RENEWAL of the current funding that our dedicated firefighters and first responders rely on to protect our homes, businesses and loved ones.
Over the years, our parish fire departments have continuously demonstrated exceptional service and financial responsibility. This funding provided by this renewed millage goes directly towards essential life and property saving services including:
- Maintaining rapid emergency response times across our communities as they respond to automobile accidents, medical calls, and fire scenes
- Upgrading and maintaining aging fire trucks, rescue vehicles, and lifesaving medical equipment
While emergencies arise, we rely on the bravery and quick action of our firefighters and first responders. Approving this renewal ensures they have the resources they need to be there when we need them.
Please join me in protecting our communities by voting Yes to renew the 5 mill millage tax on June 27, 2026 in support of our volunteer fire departments.”
Sheriff Leland Falcon
