LT. JARED TABOR COMPLETES INSTRUCTOR TRAINING
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon is pleased to announce that Lt. Jared Tabor has completed a defense training program and is now a certified instructor in multiple defense-oriented courses.
The class was held this week at the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office Training Facility.
The training class titled “Strategic Self-Defense and Gun Fighting Tactics” (SSGT), covered a series of defense-oriented programs including ground fighting, choke hold and bear hugs and teaches officers how to safely remove themselves from critical situations minimizing the harm to both the officer and the suspect.
The class also certified officers in women’s self defense and edged weapon survival.
Lt. Tabor is now certified as an instructor in the following areas:
*Vanguard Level 1 – Use of Force
*Vanguard Level 2 – Advanced Ground Fighting, How to Survive
*SSGT – Equalizer – Women’s Self Defense
*SSGT – Edged Weapon Survival
Sheriff Falcon continues his commitment to put the best trained police officers in position to effectively do their jobs in a manner that solidifies officer safety and protects the public as well.
Lt. Tabor has been employed by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office since 2012 and serves as a supervisor in the uniformed patrol division.
