SHOOTING INCIDENT – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
TRACI ALEXIS BROWN and JOSHUA JAMES LOUPER, JR.
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Traci Alexis Brown, 21, of 133 Rosedown Drive, Thibodaux, LA and Joshua James Louper, Jr., 21, of 120 Gassen Street, Luling, LA, on felony drug, gun law and attempted murder charges connected to a September 29, 2021 incident on Violet Street in Labadieville which resulted in a shooting.
On the aforementioned date, deputies were dispatched to the Violet Street area. Deputies initiated an investigation and located several spent shell casings over a three-address area.
As the investigation progressed, detectives determined that an automobile had been struck by the gunfire.
An extended investigation established that this incident was drug related.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Traci Alexis Brown and Joshua James Louper, Jr. as suspects.
Based on the progress to date of the investigation, detectives obtained arrest warrants for Brown and Louper.
Traci Alexis Brown was arrested on October 1, 2021 and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Criminal Conspiracy to Distribute a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substances
Brown was released after posting a $10,000 bond.
Joshua James Louper, Jr. was arrested on Friday on charges of:
*Attempted Murder
*Illegal use of Weapons on Dangerous Instrumentalities
*Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
*Criminal Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Dangerous Substance
Joshua James Louper, Jr. is being held without bond.
