SHOOTING INCIDENT INVESTIGATION – DRUG LAW VIOLATION

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of James E. Thomas, 40, of 113 Grant Loop Road, Paincourtville, LA on charges arising out of an illegal use of firearms complaint in the Grant Loop area.
Deputies and narcotics agents responded to a complaint related to a shooting incident in the Grant Loop Road area.
Related to that investigation, agents applied for and were granted a search warrant for a residence.
As a result of executing that search warrant, agents seized a quantity of crack cocaine.
James E. Thomas was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack Cocaine.
James E. Thomas was released after posting a $25,000 commercial bond.
In regard to the original shooting complaint, detectives have issued warrants for Wayne Sullivan, 18, off 112 Sugar Street in Paincourtville for:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm – 2 Counts
*Illegal Use of a Weapon – 1 Count
Additionally, detectives have filed a verified complaint against a 17-year-old juvenile for:
*Aggravated Assault with a Firearm – 2 Counts
*Illegal Use of a Weapon – 1 Count
Those arrests are expected shortly.
