SIMPLE BURGLARY / ARSON OF A RESIDENCE

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Alfred Batiste, Jr., 25, of 209 Sparrow Street, Labadieville, LA, on charges related to the burglary and arson of a home.

On Sunday evening, deputies were dispatched to a residence on Telegraph Street in connection to a possible domestic incident and an ongoing stove fire.

Responding deputies noted that a stove fire was occurring and there was evidence of a physical disturbance in the home. Additionally, the windows of an automobile had been broken out.

Detectives initiated an investigation and identified Alfred Batiste, Jr. as a suspect.

After additional investigation, Batiste was arrested on Monday and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling
*Simple Arson of an Inhabited Dwelling

Alfred Batiste, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
