SIMPLE BURGLARY OF AN INHABITED DWELLING

PAINCOURTVILLE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Daniel Martinez, 27, of 125 Simoneaux Lane, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony charges related to a residential burglary near Paincourtville, on Tuesday in which electronics and accessories as well as cash was stolen.

Detectives were able to quickly identify a suspect vehicle. A short time later, the suspect vehicle was located in Belle Rose. Detectives made contact with the driver, now identified as Daniel Martinez. It was determined that Martinez was wanted in Assumption Parish for Failure to Appear.

Daniel Martinez was arrested. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle which resulted in the seizure of evidence connected to the residential burglary.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Daniel Martinez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling
*Failure to Appear

Daniel Martinez remains incarcerated with bond set at $40,100.
