SIMPLE BURGLARY / POSSESSION OF FIREARM BY A CONVICTED FELON

PIERRE PART –Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jared Paul Coupel, 36, of 3318 Curtis Lane, New Iberia, La., on felony charges following a burglary investigation on Wednesday.

Deputies responded to the complaint in the area of Lakeview Street and noticed a window partially opened. At some point, deputies made entry into the dwelling and did locate Jared Paul Coupel. At the time of the arrest, Coupel was found in the presence of a large caliber rifle. Jared Paul Coupel is a prior convicted felon.

Jared Paul Coupel was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon

Jared Paul Coupel remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
