SIMPLE BURGLARY, THEFT OF A MOTOR VEHICLE

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr., 24, of 6128 Highway 44, Convent, LA, on warrants charging him with Simple Burglary and Theft of a Motor Vehicle arising from an incident which occurred on or about July 26, 2023. On that day, deputies responded to a retail outlet on LA 70 East in reference to a vehicle burglary as well as the theft of an automobile. Deputies made contact with the complainants who advised that in the early morning hours of July 26, 2023, they realized the automobile was missing. While on scene, Deputies were advised that a second vehicle had been burglarized, and a firearm was stolen from within.

Detectives initiated an investigation and were able to identify a suspect, as Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives secured arrest warrants charging Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr. with Simple Burglary and Theft of a Motor Vehicle.

Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr. was incarcerated in the Ascension Parish Jail and was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on June 23, 2025. Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Simple Burglary
*Theft of a Motor Vehicle
*Detainer – Department of Corrections – Probation / Parole

Darrel Anthony Morris, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing on the burglary and theft charges and was ordered held without bond on the probation / parole violation.
