SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE COMPLAINT – THIRD OFFENSE D.W.I. – GILBERTO HERNANDEZ
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Gilberto Hernandez, 38, of 413 Houston Avenue, League City, Texas, on felony Driving While Intoxicated charges arising from a complaint from a local business in Labadieville on Saturday morning.
Deputies responded to the suspicious vehicle complaint and observed an individual sleeping behind the wheel of an automobile while the engine was running, and travel lighting activated.
Deputies made contact with the driver now identified as Gilberto Hernandez. Deputies noted an odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the person of Gilberto Hernandez.
Deputies conducted field sobriety testing of Gilberto Hernandez of which he performed poorly. Gilberto Hernandez refused intoxilyzer testing. Deputies obtained a search warrant to secure a blood sample from Gilberto Hernandez. That sample was obtained at a local healthcare facility.
Gilberto Hernandez was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense
Gilberto Hernandez remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000 and ordered to install a SCRAM alcohol monitoring device.
