THEFT OF AUTOMOBILE (FELONY)

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Joseph Felix Adams, Jr., 29, of 221 Half Oak Drive, Thibodaux, LA, on charges related to the theft of a pick-up truck and utility trailer from the Labadieville area.

Deputies were dispatched to a location and spoke to the complainant who advised a friend of her domestic acquaintance was believed to have stolen the truck earlier on Thursday evening and he was not responding to their calls.

Deputies conducted a follow-up investigation and eventually located the suspect, now identified as Joseph Felix Adams, Jr., back at the location the vehicle and trailer was stolen from. The truck and trailer were located in the area of LA 400 and LA 1011 where it was determined that the suspect had gotten stuck in a field.

Joseph Felix Adams, Jr., was arrested shortly before midnight on Thursday. He was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Felony Theft of an Automobile
*Driving Under Suspension
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
*Leaving the Scene of an Accident

Adams was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
