THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE / PROBATION – PAROLE VIOLATOR
CLEMETH JOSEPH MIRE
AMELIA– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Clemeth Joseph Mire, 38, of 3123 Vine Drive, Morgan City, LA, on felony charges arising out of a stolen vehicle case which occurred on July 20, 2020.
On the aforementioned date, a uniformed patrol deputy was working stationary traffic enforcement near LA 662 and U.S. 90. The deputy clocked a speeding vehicle and then observed the vehicle crash. The driver of that vehicle, now identified as Clemeth Joseph Mire, was injured in the crash and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. Mire made unsolicited remarks that he had just stolen the vehicle he crashed from a yard in the area.
A short time later, the owner of the vehicle contacted the sheriff’s office to report a vehicle stolen from his home.
Warrants were applied for Mire’s arrest at the time.
Mire was arrested in St. Mary Parish on April 5, 2021.
Clemeth Joseph Mire was transported to Assumption Parish on Friday and booked on charges of:
*Felony Theft of a Motor Vehicle
*Speeding 116/55 MPH
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle with an Accident
*Detainer – Probation / Parole Violator
Clemeth Joseph Mire remains incarcerated with a bond set at $30.000.
