TRAFFIC COMPLAINT – FELONY GUN LAW VIOLATIONS – TRAVIS JAMES DUPRE
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Travis James Dupre, 33, of 243 Landmark Drive, Raceland, LA, on felony charges after deputies responded to a complaint of reckless driving near Napoleonville, LA on Sunday afternoon.
Deputies responded to the complaint and stopped two motorcycles that were the subject of the complaint. The deputy proceeded to interview both drivers, one of which was Travis James Dupre.
During the investigative process, a firearm was located, concealed on the person of Travis James Dupre. The deputy conducted a criminal records check at which time it was revealed that Travis James Dupre was a prior convicted felon, therefore could not legally possess a firearm.
Travis James Dupre was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center. During processing, Travis James Dupre was found to be in possession of illegal contraband.
Travis James Dupre was charged on counts of:
*No Motorcycle Endorsement on His Driver’s License
*Careless Operation of a Motorcycle
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons – 2 Counts
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Taking Contraband to/from a Penal Institution
Travis James Dupre remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
