TRAFFIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cody Joseph Grandin, 44, of 1907 Highway 70, Pierre Part, La., on felony charges following a Tuesday evening traffic complaint near Grand Bayou, La.
Deputies received information of a reckless and impaired driver in the area. The deputy attempted to and did eventually locate the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Cody Joseph Grandin. The subject appeared to be irate.
This individual is known to be a frequent drug violator.
At some point, the deputy utilized the services of a K-9 unit to conduct an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to particular areas of the vehicle.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia and opened alcohol containers.
Cody Joseph Grandin was arrested and booked into the Assumption parish Detention Facility on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Third Offense-Felony)
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Cody Joseph Grandin was incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
