TRAFFIC – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE ROSE– Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Dillion Michael Joseph Landry, 24, of 105 Woodland Dr, Donaldsonville, LA, on felony drug and gun law violations arising out of a Sunday afternoon traffic stop north of Belle Rose.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a northbound vehicle on LA 1 commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle.
The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Dillion Michael Joseph Landry. The deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle. The deputy also recognized physical behavior consistent with illegal drug activity.
The deputy requested consent to search the vehicle. The suspect acknowledged the presence of a handgun in the vehicle. During the search, a quantity of suspected marijuana and the handgun was seized.
It was further noted the presence of two underaged children in the vehicle.
Dillion Michael Joseph Landry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Illegal Use of Controlled Dangerous Substances in the Presence of Persons Under the Age of 17
*Possession of Marijuana – First Offense
*Speeding – 78/55
Dillion Michael Joseph Landry remains incarcerated waiting a bond hearing.
