TRAFFIC / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – SONYA STONE SIMONEAUX

PIERRE PART – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Sonya Stone Simoneaux, 61, of 706 Bayou Drive, Pierre Part, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 70 in Pierre Part late Wednesday night.

A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle.

The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Sonya Stone Simoneaux. The deputy conducted an officer / violator interview and at the conclusion of that interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested consent to search the vehicle which was granted. During the search, the deputy seized a quantity of Hydrocodone of which she had no prescription for.

Sonya Stone Simoneaux was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:

*Possession of Hydrocodone
*Turning Movements and Required Signals

Sonya Stone Simoneaux remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
