TRAFFIC / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

DANZEL JORDAN MCBRIDE

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Danzel Jordan McBride, 26, of 109 Pugh Street, Paincourtville, LA, on traffic and drug related warrants resulting from an incident on September 13, 2019 near Paincourtville.

On the aforementioned date, a uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle northbound on LA 308 commit a traffic violation.

The deputy initiated a stop of the violator vehicle and made contact with the driver now identified as Danzel Jordan McBride.

The deputy interviewed McBride and as result of that interview and other related circumstances, the deputy performed a protective sweep of the person of Mr. McBride, then searched the interior of the vehicle.

At some point, the suspect, McBride, fled on foot and was able to avoid arrest. During the search, a quantity of cocaine was seized.

Warrants to arrest McBride were requested and granted by the district court. McBride was arrested on Monday afternoon and booked on charges of:

*Possession of Cocaine
*Obstruction of Justice
*Resisting an Officer
*Speeding
*Careless Operation

Danzel Jordan McBride remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
