TRAFFIC INCIDENT – D.W.I., THIRD OFFENSE
HUNTER M. PONVELLE
PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Hunter M. Ponvelle, 24, of 1612 Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA, on felony D.W.I. charges following a traffic incident near LA 1 and Spur 70 Bridge on Wednesday.
A special operations unit was traveling in the area of LA 1 and Spur 70 Bridge when the officer observed a vehicle stopped in the traffic lane and the driver appeared to be hanging out the open door and appeared to be in some type of distress.
An I.C.E. assigned unit took over the investigation and the subject was followed by the special operations unit and the I.C.E. unit to the area of LA 1 and Michael Street. Deputies made contact with the driver now identified as Hunter M. Ponvelle. Deputies noted Ponvelle to be incoherent and walking poorly.
Deputies administered a range of field sobriety tests in which Ponvelle failed.
Ponvelle was transported to the Assumption Parish Detention Center at which time he refused to properly perform a breath / alcohol test.
Hunter M. Ponvelle was booked on charges of:
*Driving While Intoxicated – Third Offense
*Unlawful Refusal to Submit to Chemical Tests
*Turning Movement Signals Requir3ed
*Stopping, Standing or Parking Prohibited in Specific Places
Hunter M. Ponvelle remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
