TRAFFIC INCIDENT, DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS
MATTHEW PAUL LOVELL, JASON MICHAEL ONCALE
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrests of Matthew Paul Lovell, 40, of 2826 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA, and Jason Michael Oncale, 45, of 1118 Highway 3185, Thibodaux, LA, on felony drug possession charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 1 near Labadieville Monday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Matthew Paul Lovell. The deputy determined that Lovell was driving under a suspended driver’s license. The deputy proceeded to interview the passenger now identified as Jason Michael Oncale. Following that interview, the deputy believed additional investigation was warranted. A K-9 was summoned to the scene and conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of steroids.
At the conclusion of the deputy’s investigation, Matthew Paul Lovell and Jason Michael Oncale were both arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges as follows:

-Possession of Steroids
-Resisting an Officer
-Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicle
-Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
-Turning Movements and Signals Required
Matthew Paul Lovell remains incarcerated with bond set at $20,000.
As to Jason Michael Oncale –
-Possession of Steroids
-Resisting an Officer
-Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in Motor Vehicles
