TRAFFIC INCIDENT – FELONY D.W.I.

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ramiro
Daniel Bazaldua, Jr., 34, of 34620 Annadale Road, Plaquemine, LA, on multiple charges following a traffic incident near Paincourtville, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle with an equipment violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Ramiro Daniel Bazaldua, Jr. The deputy noted a strong odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from the suspect.
The deputy noted actions consistent with intoxication. The suspect refused to perform field sobriety tests and subsequently was arrested. It was determined that Mr. Bazaldua’s driver’s license was suspended for multiple D.W.I.’s
The investigating deputy obtained a search warrant to draw a blood sample from Mr. Bazaldua and the warrant was executed.
Ramiro Daniel Bazaldua, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Felony D.W.I.
*Simple Criminal Damage to Property
*Stopping, Parking or Standing on the Highway Shoulder
*Certain Lights Around License Plate Prohibited
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Driving Under Suspension
*Unlawful Refusal to Submit a Chemical Tests
Ramiro Daniel Bazaldua, Jr. remains incarcerated in lieu of bond set at $250,000.
