TRAFFIC INCIDENT – I.C.E. ARREST – MARCUS BOUTAIN, JR.
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Marcus Boutain, Jr., 27, of 301 Field Crest Drive, Thibodaux, LA, on felony aggravated flight charges arising from a traffic incident originating near Paincourtville early Friday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle near LA 70 and Daggs Street commit a traffic violation and attempted a stop of that vehicle. The suspect driver engaged deputies in a pursuit situation. The suspect vehicle continued on and eventually turned south on LA 308. The suspect continued at speeds exceeding 100 mph and driving recklessly.
The suspect vehicle was stopped and the driver now identified as Marcus Boutain, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Driving While Intoxicated – First Offense
*Resisting an Officer
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Speeding – 100+ mph in Reduced Speed Zones
*Fugitive Warrant – Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office
*Detainer – Probation and Parole
Marcus Boutain, Jr. remains incarcerated with bond set at $100,000 and ordered held without bond on the Probation Warrant.
