TRAFFIC INCIDENT, MULTIPLE VIOLATIONS
COLBY TYRESE NICHOLAS
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Colby Tyrese Nicholas, 24, of 114 Riverview Drive, Patterson, LA, on multiple charges arising from a traffic incident on November 15, 2023, on U.S. 90 near Amelia, LA.
On the aforementioned date, a uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a westbound vehicle on U.S. 90 commit a traffic violation and attempted a traffic stop of that vehicle. The driver accelerated in an attempt to flee. The deputy pursued the vehicle into St. Mary Parish. At some point, the driver and one passenger fled on foot. The passenger was arrested at the time. The deputy recognized the driver as Colby Tyrese Nicholas.
Warrants were issued for the arrest of Colby Tyrese Nicholas.
At the time of the incident, deputies seized a significant quantity of suspected marijuana.
Colby Tyrese Nicholas was arrested by the Morgan City Police Department on July 11, 2024. Nicholas was transported to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on July 12, 2024.
Colby Tyrese Nicholas was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Aggravated Flight from an Officer
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Speeding
*Failure to Drive on the Right Side of Roadway
*Resisting an Officer
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Fugitive Warrant – St. Mary Parish
*Detainer for Probation Violations
Colby Tyrese Nicholas remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing. Nicholas was ordered held without bond on the probation violation.
Upon satisfying local charges, Colby Tyrese Nicholas will be returned to St. Mary Parish to answer to the fugitive warrant.
