TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS
LANTRELL J. AYERS, JASMINE J. AYERS, DYLAN MICHAEL HEBERT, KELSIE ALYNN LANDRY,
SHAYNA RENEE TATUM
AMELIA – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the following arrests arising from a traffic stop Thursday evening on U.S. 90 near Amelia, LA.
Those arrested are as follows:
Driver: Lantrell J. Ayers, 31, 1024 5th Street, Morgan City, LA
Passenger 1: Jasmine J. Ayers, 32, 119 Bailey’s Lane, Morgan City, LA
Passenger 2: Dylan Michael Hebert, 21, 36885 Highway 75. Morgan City, LA
Passenger 3: Kelsie Alynn Landry, 18. 326 Aucoin Street, Morgan City, LA
Passenger 4: Shayna Renee Tatum, 27, 315 Aucoin Street, Morgan City, LA
A uniformed patrol officer observed a vehicle traveling on U.S. 90 commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Lantrell J. Ayers. The deputy engaged an officer / violator interview.
During that interview, the deputy noted activities of the driver and passengers to be consistent with illegal activity.
While interviewing the driver, Lantrell J. Ayers, the deputy was notified by communications of outstanding warrants for the arrest of Lantrell J. Ayers for Elayne Hunt Correctional. Lantrell J. Ayers was immediately arrested.
The deputy noted an odor of suspected marijuana emitting from the vehicle and observed a passenger attempting to shove an item into the seat. At this time, all suspects were removed from the vehicle.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. As a result of that process, deputies located firearm ammunition, marijuana, Promethazine D.M. and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Deputies conducted a walk-around of the vehicle and did locate other dangerous substances which had been discarded by the suspects.
Deputies also located a large caliber handgun in the vehicle.
At the conclusion of the investigation, deputies arrested all five suspects on charges as follows:
Lantrell J. Ayers –
*Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
*Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Fugitive – (3 Counts)
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax (Alprazolam)
*No Driver’s License
*Taillamps and Headlights Required
* Parole Violations – Louisiana Department of Corrections
Jasmine J. Ayers –
* Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
* Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
Dylan Michael Hebert –
* Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Xanax (Alprazolam)
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
* Obstruction of Justice
* Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Methamphetamine (Felony)
Kelsie Alynn Landry –
* Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
* Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute
* Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Shayna Renee Tatum –
* Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
* Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
* Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription
* Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* Fugitive for Morgan City Police Department
At the conclusion of the investigation, Lantrell J. Ayers, Jasmine J. Ayers, Dylan Michael Hebert, Kelsie Alynn Landry and Shayna Renee Tatum were all booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center where they await bond proceedings.
