TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Aaron Blake Henry, 27, of 1034 Spell Street, West Monroe, LA, on felony drug and gun law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA 308 north of Labadieville on Tuesday morning.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Aaron Blake Henry.
The deputy conducted an officer / violator interview of the suspect. During the interview, the deputy determined that Henry’s driver’s license was suspended. Due to Henry’s movements, the deputy conducted a protective pat down search for weapons.
The deputy was advised by the Communications Division that Aaron Blake Henry was wanted on a fugitive warrant from Lafourche Parish for aggravated assault.
A secondary pat down search resulted in the seizure of drug paraphernalia and a quantity of methamphetamine.
Deputies conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle which produced a positive alert for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of additional drug paraphernalia and a shotgun.
Aaron Blake Henry was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Speeding
*Fugitive Warrant – Lafourche Parish
Aaron Blake Henry remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
