TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG / GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE ROSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Torianno Adarryl Howard, Jr., 21, of 124 Grisaffe Lane, Belle Rose, LA, on multiple drug / gun law violations arising from a traffic stop Tuesday evening near LA 308 and Massey Lane in Belle Rose.
A uniformed patrol supervisor observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Torianno Adarryl Howard, Jr., and initiated an officer / violator interview. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy believed further investigation was warranted. The deputy conducted a K-9 open air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A subsequent search of the suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of marijuana, synthetic marijuana, assorted drug paraphernalia and a large caliber handgun.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Torianno Adarryl Howard, Jr. was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana
*Possession with Intent to Distribute Synthetic Marijuana
*Sale, Distribution, or Possession of a Legend Drug without a Prescription or Order Prohibited
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of Controlled Dangerous Substances
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*No Motor Vehicle Inspection Tag
*No Proof of Liability Insurance
*Illegal Window Tint
*Failure to Dim Headlights
Torianno Adarryl Howard, Jr. remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
