TRAFFIC STOP- DRUG – GUN LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jailen Jacobe Watts, 22, of 108 Blackwell Lane, Belle Rose, La., on felony drug and gun law violations arising from a traffic stop in the 6000 Block of LA. 308 near Paincourtville on Tuesday afternoon.
A narcotics agent observed a vehicle commit multiple traffic violations and executed a stop of that vehicle. The agent made contact with the driver now identified as Jailen Jacobe Watts. The agent interviewed Watts. The agent observed in plain view inside the vehicle numerous containers believed to be controlled dangerous substances and a firearm which was seized. After obtaining consent to search, agents seized a significant amount of Schedule I controlled dangerous substances and a large caliber firearm.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Jailen Jacobe Watts was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Prohibited Acts – Possession of a Schedule I Controlled Dangerous Substance
With Intent to Distribute
(249 Containers of Schedule I Substances)
*Illegal Carrying of Weapons in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous
Substance
*Improper Equipment
*Illegal Window Tint
*Improper Turning
Jailen Jacobe Watts remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
