TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOALTION – FUGITIVE
CLARENCE COLEMAN, JR. – I.C.E. ARREST
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Clarence Coleman, Jr., 44, of 422 Frederick Drive, Thibodaux, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic incident Wednesday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a southbound vehicle on LA 308 near Napoleonville commit multiple traffic violations and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Clarence Coleman, Jr. and engaged Coleman in an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted Coleman to not have a valid drivers license. During a warrant’s check, Clarence Coleman, Jr. was determined to be wanted by the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office on a felony domestic warrant and was immediately arrested. Due to multiple factors a K-9 was summoned to the location and conducted an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances. A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of the drug, Suboxone which Clarence Coleman, Jr. did not have a prescription for.
Clarence Coleman, Jr. was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Suboxone
*No Driver’s License
*Speeding – 62 mph in a 45 mph Speed Zone
*Fugitive Warrant – Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office on a Charge of:
-Domestic Abuse Battery with Child Endangerment
Clarence Coleman, Jr., remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
