TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION

LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Ashley Elizabeth Callais, 39, of 214 Glenwood Street, Morgan City, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop late Saturday night on LA 398 west of Labadieville, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a westbound vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle and made contact with the driver now identified as Ashley Elizabeth Callais. The deputy engaged into an interview with Callais. At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy felt that additional investigation was warranted.
The investigating deputy requested consent to search the suspect vehicle which was granted.
During the search process, deputies seized a number of doses of Adderall which the suspect could not provide a prescription for.
Ashley Elizabeth Callais was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Adderall
*Speeding – 67 MPH /55 MPH
Ashley Elizabeth Callais was incarcerated and released on a $2500 bond.
