TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION
AVONTE R. JAMISON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Avonte R. Jamison, 29, of 3229 Delaune Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on April 26, 2024 on Delaune Street south of Napoleonville.
On the aforementioned date, a uniformed patrol deputy arrested Avonte R. Jamison on charges related to the traffic stop. At the time, the deputy had a K-9 conduct an open-air sniff of the suspect vehicle with resulted in a positive alert for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of an undetermined substance that was submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis.
On May 12, 2024, the crime lab determined the substance to be methamphetamine. A warrant was obtained for the arrest of Avonte R. Jamison.
Avonte R. Jamison was arrested by Thibodaux City Police on May 26, 2024.
Avonte R. Jamison was released to the custody of the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office on May 28, 2024.
Avonte R. Jamison was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on a charge of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
Avonte R. Jamison remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
