TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – I.C.E. ARREST

BAYOU L’OURSE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Jason Joseph Olivier, 40, of 110 Cleveland Street, Patterson, LA arising from a Sunday evening traffic stop on U.S. 90 near Bayou L’Ourse, LA.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail observed a westbound vehicle on U.S. 90 with an equipment violation. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Jason Joseph Olivier. The deputy identified signs that the driver may have ingested controlled dangerous substances. During a vehicle walk around, the deputy observed a package on the driver’s seat that was opened and containing a substance the deputy believed to be methamphetamine. The suspect acknowledged that he had ingested methamphetamine.
The suspect, Jason Joseph Olivier, was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Jason Joseph Olivier was later released from the healthcare facility.
Jason Joseph Olivier was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Obstruction of Justice
*Resisting an Officer
*Driving under a Suspended Driver’s License
*License Plate Required
*Fugitive Warrant – Morgan City Police Department
Jason Joseph Olivier remains incarcerated with bond set at $45,000.
