TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATION – I.C.E. ARREST
APRIL S. PRESTON
NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of April S. Preston, 42, of 8294-2 Mill St., St. James, La., on felony drug law violations arising from a traffic stop on LA. 1 near Napoleonville late Wednesday evening.
Uniformed patrol deputies observed a vehicle with licensing violations and conducted a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as April S. Preston and engaged Preston in an officer / violator interview. Deputies believed additional investigation was warranted.
Deputies requested and were granted consent to search the vehicle. During the subsequent search, deputies seized a quantity of suspected meth -amphetamine.
April S. Preston was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Meth-Amphetamine
*Driver Must be Licensed
*Expired or Cancelled License Plate
April S. Preston remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
