TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cody Maurice Lambert, 38, of 162 Terrio Drive, Reserve, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic stop early Wednesday on LA 70 East.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a westbound vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Cody Maurice Lambert and conducted an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted several factors consistent with illegal drug activity and thus concluded that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy requested and secured consent to search the suspect vehicle and during that process, the deputy seized quantities of methamphetamine and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Cody Maurice Lambert was arrested and after a brief struggle was subdued. Cody Maurice Lambert was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Resisting an Officer
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Careless Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Cody Maurice Lambert remains incarcerated with bond set at $40,000.
