TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

BELLE RIVER – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Terry Joseph Prejean, 32, of 38016 Highway 22, Darrow, LA, on multiple drug charges arising from a traffic stop near Belle River on Thursday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a westbound vehicle with an equipment violation and proceeded to stop the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Terry Joseph Prejean and conducted an officer / violator interview. As that interview was completed, the deputy concluded that additional investigation was warranted.
The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.
During the search, quantities of methamphetamine and Alprazolam (Xanax) were seized.
Terry Joseph Prejean was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Methamphetamine
*Possession of Alprazolam (Xanax)
*Failure to Dim Headlights
Terry Joseph Prejean remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
