TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – ALFRED JAMES ADAMS
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Alfred James Adams, 45, of 2968 Highway 1, Labadieville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 308 near Labadieville.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of the vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Alfred James Adams. Adams advised the deputy that his license was currently under suspension.
Upon concluding the interview process, the deputy requested to search the vehicle which was granted. Additionally, the deputy summoned a K-9 unit to the location.
The K-9 conducted an open air sniff of the vehicle and alerted positive for the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
A search of the suspect vehicle resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of suspected cocaine as well as U.S. currency.
Alfred James Adams was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Distribute
*Transaction Involving Proceeds from Controlled Dangerous Substance Activity
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Driving on Roadway Laned for Traffic
*Detainer – Probation Violation
Alfred James Adams remains incarcerated with bond set at $50,000.
