TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – BARRY P. LEBLANC
PLATTENVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Barry P. LeBlanc, 57, of 5727 Highway 308, Plattenville, LA, on felony drug charges arising from a traffic incident near LA 1 and Spur 70 on Monday afternoon.
A narcotics officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and initiated a stop of that vehicle. The suspect vehicle continued for some distance until he was stopped on Pecan Street in Bertrandville. The deputy made contact with the driver, now identified as Barry P. LeBlanc and engaged the subject into an interview.
At the conclusion of that interview, the deputy felt that additional investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle.
During the search process, a quantity of suspected crack cocaine was seized.
Barry P. LeBlanc was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
*Stop Lamps and Turn Signals Required
*Illegal Window Tint
*Flight from an Officer
Barry P. LeBlanc remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
