TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS

NAPOLEONVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Cedric Dupaty, 38, of 120 Bertrand Street, Napoleonville, LA, on felony charges arising from a traffic stop in Napoleonville Monday evening.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and attempted to execute a stop of the vehicle. The suspect driver fled towards the area of South College Street.
The pursuit was quickly terminated resulting in the arrest of the driver, now identified as Cedric Dupaty.
The deputy requested a K-9 at the location of the stop. The K-9 alerted positive to the presence of controlled dangerous substances.
A subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a quantity of MDMA (Ecstasy).
Cedric Dupaty was booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of MDMA (Ecstasy)
*Flight from an Officer
*No Seat Belt
Cedric Dupaty remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
