TRAFFIC STOP / DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – CHARLES WALTER PATTERSON, III
LABADIEVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Charles Walter Patterson, III, 42, of 133 Violet Street, Thibodaux, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop on LA 1 near Labadieville on Friday afternoon.
A uniformed patrol deputy observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation and executed a stop of that vehicle. The deputy made contact with the driver now identified as Charles Walter Patterson, III and engaged Patterson in an officer / violator interview. The deputy noted a strong odor of suspected marijuana emitting from his person and from the vehicle. Charles Walter Patterson, III acknowledged the presence of marijuana inside the vehicle. The deputy seized the marijuana at which time the deputy secured permission to search the vehicle. During that search, the deputy seized multiple doses of suspected Hydrocodone of which Patterson did not own a prescription for. Charles Walter Patterson, III was arrested. Once at the detention center, a quantity of suspected cocaine was seized from the person of Charles Walter Patterson, III.
Charles Walter Patterson, III was booked on charges of:
*Possession of Hydrocodone with Intent to Distribute
*Possession of Cocaine
*Taking Contraband to / from a Penal Institution
*Obstruction of Justice
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Marijuana
*Improper Lane Usage
Charles Walter Patterson, III remains incarcerated with bond set at $150,000.
