TRAFFIC STOP – DRUG LAW VIOLATIONS – BRANDON PAUL HOOD
PAINCOURTVILLE – Assumption Parish Sheriff Leland Falcon reports the arrest of Brandon Paul Hood, 35, of 346 Highway 401, Napoleonville, LA, on multiple felony charges arising from a traffic stop near LA 996 and LA 70 west of Paincourtville.
A uniformed patrol deputy assigned to the I.C.E. detail initiated a traffic stop on Monday afternoon and made contact with the driver now identified as Brandon Paul Hood. The deputy engaged Hood in an officer / violator interview. The deputy had prior knowledge that Brandon Paul Hood had a suspended driver’s license.
At the conclusion of the interview, the deputy believed that further investigation was warranted. The deputy requested and was granted consent to search the vehicle. During the ensuing search, quantities of crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia were seized.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Brandon Paul Hood was arrested and booked into the Assumption Parish Detention Center on charges of:
*Possession of Crack Cocaine
*Attempted Possession of Cocaine
*Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
*Possession of Alcoholic Beverages in a Motor Vehicle
*Driving Under a Suspended Driver’s License
*Turning Movements and Required Signals
Brandon Paul Hood remains incarcerated pending a bond hearing.
